The truth is that it is actually really easy to buy a gift for a true football fan. The only thing that you need to pay attention to is making sure that you know what team is being supported. There are many different local shops that will most likely have different items from cups and mugs to balls and t-shirts with the team’s logo on them. All of these are usually great gifts for football fans.

In the event that you are the type of person that wants to buy something a lot more special, it is recommended to go to the official store of the teams that are supported. This is due to the fact that there will be more items there and it is a guarantee that you will find something more suitable. We have to understand that there are gift options that are suitable for all ages so it does not matter how old the fan is. It is a guarantee that you will find something that will be appropriate.

Using the Internet is also a great way to look for gifts for football fans. There are many different auction sites that you can visit. These are great because you can locate unusual football gifts that are not available anywhere else. The most popular site that you can visit is eBay. In this case, make sure that you are only going to buy from a user that has many positive reviews. This will be a guarantee of quality in the sense that you can be sure that you are not going to be scammed.

Another option that is available for you is to personalize the gift that you can buy. The possibilities are virtually endless from this point of view. Some people will want to buy birthday cars while others will even have pictures that are photoshop altered to create something funny and appealing at the same time. You can even opt for a picture of a favorite football player that was signed by him and then put in a very nice frame.

On the Internet you can surely find dozens of different gifts. The truth is that you can only decide exactly what to purchase after looking at as many options as possible. This is due to the fact that different people will have different tastes. If you have patience and you take the needed time to look at many different options, you will surely find something that will be perfect.

Born: 7/11/78
Nationality: English
Club: Manchester United

Rio Ferdinand brought a new way of playing to English defenders and that is playing the ball out the back. Seems so simple now, but Rio Ferdinand has always had the ability of a midfielder, but plays in defence and has become one of the most respected defenders in world football. Ferdinand’s pace, ball play, positioning and leadership is one of the best in the world, and has been so successful in his football career. Ferdinand has broken records with defensive partner Nemanja Vidic in terms of clean sheets, but broken records including transfer fees for a defender, and is one of the highest paid footballers in England. Rio Ferdinand has been arguably the most decorated defender for England in the last 10 years.

Rio Ferdinand has played in the Premier League his whole career. He started at West Ham where he came through a successful youth system. His appearances for West Ham got his name mentioned for England squads. He joined Leeds in 2000 for a record British transfer fee of £18million, and he would break his own record when he moved to Manchester United in 2002. Since being at United, he has developed his playing style and regarded as one of the best defenders in the last 10 years. He has won the Champions League once, whilst winning the Premier League on 4 occasions too. Rio Ferdinand will have one huge regret in his career though, and this took place in 2003 where he missed a drugs test and was banned from all football competitions for 8 months, including the European Champions in Portugal in 2004.

Ferdinand has great ability on the ball and some of his long range passing is fantastic. He often brings the ball out of defence and starts the move up. He hasn’t been a goal scorer in his career, even for defender standards, but his defending cannot be disputed. Ferdinand has always been passionate for his playing career, and has captained England and Manchester United on several occasions. He is a leader off the pitch as well as on it, as he has many campaigns including his no racism campaign. His twitter account is one of the most viewed in terms of sports man and is an idol for young footballers. Ferdinand, at the age of 32, has still got a few years left in him, although his fitness at times has been questioned, but Manchester United should enjoy his services, and he will continue to be part of one of the toughest defences in the world.

Born: 7/11/90
Nationality: Spanish
Club: Manchester United

David De Gea is an up and coming goalkeeper who made a big move from Atletico Madrid to Manchester United this summer. At the age of 20, he has already been considered to be in the Spanish national football side, despite strong competition from Iker Casillas, Victor Valdes and Pepe Reina. De Gea has been impressive with his days at Atletico Madrid, and has Van Der Sar retired from Manchester United, Alex Ferguson was quick to find a replacement. De Gea moved to United for a large sum of money, and this move could turn out to make his career. He has good disposition of the ball, as well as shot stopping and commanding his area.

David De Gea joined Atletico Madrid’s youth system at the age of just 10 years old. He worked himself up the ranks, and by the time he was 18 he was starting for the first team. His competitive debut was just 3 days after his friendly debut, but gave away a penalty, but also saved the same penalty. This particular moment reminds me of when Ricardo, former Manhcester United goalkeeper gave away a penalty on his debut, and then went on to save it. David De Gea made himself the clubs number 1 by the end of the 2009/2010 season. At the beginning of the next season, Atletico beat Inter Milan in the Super Cup 2-0, with De Gea saving a penalty kick from Milito, and his season was an impressive one. He joined Manchester United, but in his first competitive game (community shield is still classed as competitive) he was questioned for the second goal but will probably have to find his feet for one of the biggest clubs in the world.

I think David De Gea will excel at Manchester United, I have already seen enough in pre season of his fantastic saves (Barcelona friendly for example) and not only that but his command in the box. The Premier League is hard to be a goal keeper in, due to the quality of teams you are facing. David De Gea also is still learning to speak English, and before he improves on that, communication between him and his defence will not be at it’s strongest. David De Gea has shown in matches so far that his kicking ability is good, and would rather play from the back then lump the ball down the pitch, and a team like Manchester United should prefer that. Can he replace Edwin Van Der? He certainly has the potential, but doesn’t have the experience obviously, but each year he should improve.
